Statement: Her Majesty The Queen

As a mark of respect to Her Majesty The Queen, the Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally will hold a 2-minute silence at 09:45 on Saturday 10th September.

We ask all people in the Service Area to gather at the central crossroads (beside the Catering Van) at 09:40.

Solway Car Club member Scott Sloan will play a lament on his Bagpipes, at the end of which, the period of 2-minute silence will start. The end of the silence will be indicated by Scott on his Pipes.

For those not in the Service Area, the Pipes will as far as possible, be broadcast to the whole event by our Safety Radio System. All those on the route are respectfully asked to stop and observe the 2-minute silence with us. Any Marshals who are not positioned beside a Radio point, should stop at the preceding Radio to their post, and then move into position after the end of the 2-minute silence.

As an additional tribute, all Competing Cars and the Safety Car Convoy will carry a black sun-strip which is being printed at this moment and will be issued at Scrutineering. This tribute has the full support of the Scottish Rally Championship and their title sponsor Kevin Crawford of KNC Groundworks, along with our title sponsor, the Armstrong Group.

Further to this, all Social Media activities on our Channels will be extremely reduced for the duration of the event. We respectfully suggest that Competitors follow a similar principal.
