The 49th Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally will take place on Saturday 16th September 2023, where event promoters Solway, Machars and East Ayrshire Car Clubs propose to run a new format. Competitors will be able to choose from a 6 stage event (43 miles) counting towards their championship points, or take up the option of a 9 stage event (64.5miles) which includes three further night stages.
The event will mark the 24-year anniversary of sponsorship from Dumfries-based Construction and Renewables specialists, The Armstrong Group, who have enthusiastically supported the event since the year 2000. The event would also not be possible without the support of Dumfries & Galloway Council’s Major Festivals & Events Strategy, and our individual Event Partners.
The Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally has been a round of the popular KNC Groundworks Motorsport UK Scottish Rally Championship since 2016, and was voted ‘Best Event’ in the series in 2017 and 2021. As well as being the penultimate round of Scotland’s premier mixed surface rally series, we also look forward to once again welcoming competitors from the HRCR Motoscope Northern Historic Rally Championship, and for the first time, the MG3 Challenge.
